Module 10 video review

I reviewed the videos African Art & African Art:Legacy of Oppression In African art one thing that really stood out to me what that in Africa art is apart of the everyday life. It is always around. This is demonstrated through hair, clothing statues and masks. In the second video, I learned about Belgium and how they had territory in Central African Art. I liked watching these videos because not only was it informative about art, but also about the African culture. I learned about the history of the countries, and how art is encorporated in them.

I had expected to learn about different art techniques, and I even learned more than what I had expected from this course. 2. Now that you've been through this course, What is art? How would you define it now compared to your intial posting? Now that I been through this course, art is many different things. Al Mitsu 1944 Oil painting Jame Amos Porter 1957 Oil on Canvas Frida Kahlo 1945 These are all of the three of the inspired self-portrait pieces I have decided to include from the art gallery visit. Module 13/14

Video 1: "An Acquiring Mind: Phillippe de Montebello and the Metropolitan." in this video some concepts that I learned about was the the artist was very prideful about his culture. His artwork was able to define and represent his feelings and ideas about his culture. He also had a very outgoing personality. Video 2: "Low Brow & Low Brow West Coast Pop Art" a key concept that I learned from this video was that different types of art works are created and formed into its own category. Video 3: "The Tate Modern" something I learned from this video was then when artwork is made, the placement of it is another process that has to be decided. 2. These videos do relate to the creation of my Art Exhibit project and although these videos are different they tie into a general, common relation of theme in my project. Each form of artwork has its own theme within it. 3. I like watching the films, they kept me very entertained, and I learned a lot from each of

Module 12 video review

1. I chose the video on Andy Warhol & another on Henry Moore. I chose both of these videos because the topic interested me, and I was familiar with both of the people that these videos were on. I wanted to learn more about these two people. 2. In the first video I learned that Andy Warhol used a technique called "silk screening" to make it a style that he had created. This was something that made it unique for his work. He also used a lot of repetition when it came down to his art work. In the Henry Moore film I learned that he included the idea of a mother and child to create the idea of family in his work, 3. The videos relate to the readings in the text because they include a lot of information about modern art from previous times and individualism.  4. In my opinion I enjoyed watching these two films. They were very informative, and I learned a lot about each artist in great detail.
