Module 16 extra credit

1. What were you expectations for this course and where they met?

I expected to learn a lot from this course when I began it. I had expected to learn about different art techniques, and I even learned more than what I had expected from this course.

2. Now that you've been through this course, What is art? How would you define it now compared to your intial posting?

Now that I been through this course, art is many different things. It could be a photograph, a painting, a collage, a sculpture etc. There are many things that can be created and can be considered a form of art. If you have a vision to create something it can be created and made into art.

3. Who was your favorite artist in your original posting and who is your favorite visual artist now? If there is a difference, why do you think so? If you have the same favorite artist, why do you think so?

I did not have a favorite artist from my original posting, but after this course I looked at a lot of artwork from Frida Kahlo and now she is my favorite. This is because her art work reflected a lot about her life, and she decided to put her struggles into art and create something more about it. Her artwork spoke to me on an emotional level and this is another reason why I was drawn to her art.

4. Now that you've completed this course, how do you feel about taking an online course? Is your answer the same as it was in your first posting? How is it the same or different?

I feel good about taking an online course. This course prepared me for other online courses and now I know how to manage my time wisely in order to produce efficient work and to be successful while trying to balance other classes that I have.

In the prairie school clip, one of the key concepts that I learned was about architecture becoming a style. This was something that became natural to society, and this is what made it a style. In the second video architecture as art it was described that architecture was something that becomes a language that flourishes more and more as time goes on. This means that it becomes something that is used in the everyday life. The videos relate to the readings in the text because in the text the history of architecture and how the structures of buildings, and designing came about. In my opinions I think these films were very informative and they were able to explain to viewers more in-depth about architecture, and the background behind it. Module 4

My thoughts on creating a Value Scale are that I thought this project was creative, and cool. Before this class if someone were to ask me what a Value Scale was I would not be able to describe what that was. Now that I have created one I am able to explain the purpose of one, and what it can be used for. While creating the Color Wheel I was a bit challenged at first because I wasn't sure if I would make the colors correctly like it was shown in the video. After I had noticed that I did it correct, and it became fun to watch the colors blend together, and produce other colors. The media that I enjoyed working with the most was the color wheel. This is because it was more hands on involving the paint, and brushes. I like working with paint, and painting things and although we were not instructed to paint a object or create a picture with it, it was still fun to put the colors together, and see what can be created from that. 1. What is the title of the exhibit? I went to visit the Burchfield Penney Art center and the exhibit was titled "Jonathan Rogers, The Complexity of life" 2. What is the theme of the exhibition?
