Color has many different effects on emotions. These colors have unpredictable effects on our emotions, but with that being said many artists may use vibrant colors to display an effect of happiness, they may also use dark colors to be more dramatic during sad emotions. The theoretical aspects of color that fascinates me the most are the different properties of color. Meaning the different primary colors and the things that are associated with them that put them in the category of primary colors. Red, yellow, and blue are categorized as primary colors because they are not able to be made by mixing any other colors together.  In the videos the biggest impact on me what that we associate different colors with feelings, or places, and memories. These colors could take us back to a certain time in our lives, and we connect these colors with those things.

The first picture in my slide show demonstrates space. The girl is sitting all the way to the left, and most of the picture shows the surrounding. In the second picture unity is being represented. This is my family, and I we are a union; we are one. The third picture in my slideshow is my niece and she has patterns on her pajamas. The fourth picture is me on the beach. I chose this picture to show balance. You can see in the background the sky, beach, and surroundings are all balanced. The fifth picture in my slide show is a picture that shows motion. In the background of the two females the water was captured as is was falling. The sixth picture is one that shows texture. It is almost like you can feel those two cantaloupes from just seeing their veins pop out in the picture. The picture after that demonstrates shape, as the girl is holding up a basketball in front of her face. You can see the dimensions of the ball, and notice that it is a circle. The 8th picture shows form. The boxes of beer are apparent, and the shapes of the boxes are noticeable. The 9th picture is a chunk of the New York skyline (where I am from originally). This snapshot was intended to show proportion. The next photo shows color. In this specific one there are many colors shown throughout the entire photograph from the colors of the ladies bandana's to the background images. I included the 11th photo to show emphasis on the beautiful tree that the young lady was standing in in front of. The next photo demonstrates contrast. The 13th photo shows value, the black and white color helps emphasize this. Last but not least, the final photo shows lines.

Module 4

My thoughts on creating a Value Scale are that I thought this project was creative, and cool. Before this class if someone were to ask me what a Value Scale was I would not be able to describe what that was. Now that I have created one I am able to explain the purpose of one, and what it can be used for. While creating the Color Wheel I was a bit challenged at first because I wasn't sure if I would make the colors correctly like it was shown in the video. After I had noticed that I did it correct, and it became fun to watch the colors blend together, and produce other colors.  The media that I enjoyed working with the most was the color wheel. This is because it was more hands on involving the paint, and brushes. I like working with paint, and painting things and although we were not instructed to paint a object or create a picture with it, it was still fun to put the colors together, and see what can be created from that.  In my opinion an important discovery that I had not

3rd art gallery visit

Al Mitsu 1944 Oil painting Jame Amos Porter 1957 Oil on Canvas Frida Kahlo 1945 These are all of the three of the inspired self-portrait pieces I have decided to include from the art gallery visit. All of these pieces were found virtually from the Google art project website. 1. Why did you select the inspiration pieces? I selected these inspiration pieces because I felt like these are exactly what self-portraits are supposed to look like. It is the person, and they are either doing something or just still. 2. Why did you select the media to create your self-portrait? I selected the media to create my self-portrait because I felt like it would be the best way to create the image of myself that I wanted to. 3. What challenges did you face in creating your self-portrait and how did you overcome them? The challenges that were faced while creating my self-portrait was not being able to create the best image of myself. Since this was my first time creating a self portrait,
