Module 10 video review

I reviewed the videos African Art & African Art:Legacy of Oppression
In African art one thing that really stood out to me what that in Africa art is apart of the everyday life. It is always around. This is demonstrated through hair, clothing statues and masks.
In the second video, I learned about Belgium and how they had territory in Central African Art.
I liked watching these videos because not only was it informative about art, but also about the African culture. I learned about the history of the countries, and how art is encorporated in them.

I didn’t know what exactly they would be about but I am glad I picked the ones that I did because t...

Some that intrigued my to learn more, some that told a story, some that were difficult to understand, but overall it was a great time. There are some amazing artists featured in this gallery, and all of the works of art were beautiful to look at, and try to understand. The first work of art that made an impression on me was Frida Kahlo's self-portrait with monkey (1938).  Frida Kahlo's Self-portrait with monkey (1938) From seeing this portrait I learned a lot about Frida. This specific piece of art impacted me because she had gone through many life threatening accidents, and she resulted to painting to pass the time, and distract her from her boredom. She decided to include her pet monkey in this painting, and this is something that made me think that this is something that brings her joy despite all of the hardships that she...
