Al Mitsu 1944 Oil painting |
Jame Amos Porter 1957 Oil on Canvas |
Frida Kahlo 1945 |
These are all of the three of the inspired self-portrait pieces I have decided to include from the art gallery visit. All of these pieces were found virtually from the Google art project website.
I selected these inspiration pieces because I felt like these are exactly what self-portraits are supposed to look like. It is the person, and they are either doing something or just still.

The challenges that were faced while creating my self-portrait was not being able to create the best image of myself. Since this was my first time creating a self portrait, I did not know exactly how it would come out, but I just kept trying and did not let that worry me.
4. How does this piece represent you?
This piece represents me because a big part of my life, and culture has to do with my hair. I have learned how to embraced my natural hair, and it is a hassle to deal with, but I have learned to love it because my hair is what makes me who I am.
5. What elements and principles of art did you apply in this work?
I have decided to paint my self portrait on a canvas. I combined different colors to create the color of my hair in the portrait, and the background color.
