I reviewed the videos African Art & African Art:Legacy of Oppression In African art one thing that really stood out to me what that in Africa art is apart of the everyday life. It is always around. This is demonstrated through hair, clothing statues and masks. In the second video, I learned about Belgium and how they had territory in Central African Art. I liked watching these videos because not only was it informative about art, but also about the African culture. I learned about the history of the countries, and how art is encorporated in them.
1. What were you expectations for this course and where they met? I expected to learn a lot from this course when I began it. I had expected to learn about different art techniques, and I even learned more than what I had expected from this course. 2. Now that you've been through this course, What is art? How would you define it now compared to your intial posting? Now that I been through this course, art is many different things. It could be a photograph, a painting, a collage, a sculpture etc. There are many things that can be created and can be considered a form of art. If you have a vision to create something it can be created and made into art. 3. Who was your favorite artist in your original posting and who is your favorite visual artist now? If there is a difference, why do you think so? If you have the same favorite artist, why do you think so? I did not have a favorite artist from my original posting, but after this course I looked at a lot of artwork from Frid
