Module 9 video posts

I chose the two videos “The Power of Art: Caravaggio” and “Velazquez” once again at random selection to review them and answer the questions needed.
In the first video the key concept that was learned was that the context of Caravaggio's are was different, and as a person he was a heavy drinker. Labeled as a drunk.
he practiced the religion of christianity, and his art work reflected the religion in a very disturbing way.
In the second video, I learned that Velazquez was an artist for a lifetime because of his involvement with King Phillip the fourth.
In the text it was explained that Caravaggio was apart of the Baroque period. Velazquez and Caravaggio
was also compared to each other, and their art work were also compared to one another.
In my opinion these two videos were very entertaining to watch, they did not bore me and I learned a lot
about each artist in each of the films.

Modules 7's video reviews

In the prairie school clip, one of the key concepts that I learned was about architecture becoming a style. This was something that became natural to society, and this is what made it a style. In the second video architecture as art it was described that architecture was something that becomes a language that flourishes more and more as time goes on. This means that it becomes something that is used in the everyday life. The videos relate to the readings in the text because in the text the history of architecture and how the structures of buildings, and designing came about. In my opinions I think these films were very informative and they were able to explain to viewers more in-depth about architecture, and the background behind it. I loved it because construction interests me so I love learning more about those things. I chose the films that I watched by random selection. I didn’t know what exactly they would be about but I am glad I picked the ones that I did because t...

Fun Art Gallery visit!

I recently visited the Albright-Knox art gallery located in Buffalo, New York. While visiting I saw a lot of very different creative pieces of art. Some that intrigued my to learn more, some that told a story, some that were difficult to understand, but overall it was a great time. There are some amazing artists featured in this gallery, and all of the works of art were beautiful to look at, and try to understand. The first work of art that made an impression on me was Frida Kahlo's self-portrait with monkey (1938).  Frida Kahlo's Self-portrait with monkey (1938) From seeing this portrait I learned a lot about Frida. This specific piece of art impacted me because she had gone through many life threatening accidents, and she resulted to painting to pass the time, and distract her from her boredom. She decided to include her pet monkey in this painting, and this is something that made me think that this is something that brings her joy despite all of the hardships that she...
