I recently visited the Albright-Knox art gallery located in Buffalo, New York. While visiting I saw a lot of very different creative pieces of art. Some that intrigued my to learn more, some that told a story, some that were difficult to understand, but overall it was a great time. There are some amazing artists featured in this gallery, and all of the works of art were beautiful to look at, and try to understand. The first work of art that made an impression on me was Frida Kahlo's self-portrait with monkey (1938). Frida Kahlo's Self-portrait with monkey (1938) From seeing this portrait I learned a lot about Frida. This specific piece of art impacted me because she had gone through many life threatening accidents, and she resulted to painting to pass the time, and distract her from her boredom. I enjoyed your pictures for the project, but I need some information to help me understand your thought process. Without information, I cannot really understand some of your pictures. I do enjoy your picture for movement, with the water moving in the background, and I like the shape picture of the basketball. I do not understand some, like the space picture. I understand that the empty space on the wall in the background is what you maybe intended, but why did you chose that picture? I feel like there could be more information to give us. Some more time spent on the project would have made it much stronger. Good job, though!

DeleteI feel that all these pictures really resemballed their values and Elements!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I enjoyed your theme of the family, nature and love it missed out on the specifics of the assignment which included elements and principles. Keep trying though,I’m not being condescending when I say that your efforts will improve your work. I find myself struggling but this post affirms my own improvement. Good job.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your photobook. I think It is a perfect way to demonstrate arts in living. We are surrounded by art and I think it is important to show appreciation to some of those minor details in life that we miss out on. I also liked your photobook because I think it had a very abstract way of representing the elements and principles
