module 6 video reviews

In the first video, some key concepts I learned that every stone has a different scent. Also in order to know that a limestone is good before carving is by hearing the sound. You have to hit it with a hammer, and check for cracks.
In the second video I learned that stained glass windows are made from lead. This was something that I would never even think stained glass would be made from.

The videos relate to the readings in the text because in the text we learn about sculptures, and how they're made, and the thought process that goes into creating a sculpture. This is something that we also learn in the video. They teach us what was mentioned in the text.
I enjoyed watching the films, they were interesting, and kept me entertained. They presented me with lots of information

Modules 7's video reviews

In the prairie school clip, one of the key concepts that I learned was about architecture becoming a style. This was something that became natural to society, and this is what made it a style. In the second video architecture as art it was described that architecture was something that becomes a language that flourishes more and more as time goes on. This means that it becomes something that is used in the everyday life. The videos relate to the readings in the text because in the text the history of architecture and how the structures of buildings, and designing came about. In my opinions I think these films were very informative and they were able to explain to viewers more in-depth about architecture, and the background behind it. I loved it because construction interests me so I love learning more about those things. I chose the films that I watched by random selection. I didn’t know what exactly they would be about but I am glad I picked the ones that I did because t...

Color has many different effects on emotions. These colors have unpredictable effects on our emotions, but with that being said many artists may use vibrant colors to display an effect of happiness, they may also use dark colors to be more dramatic during sad emotions. The theoretical aspects of color that fascinates me the most are the different properties of color. Meaning the different primary colors and the things that are associated with them that put them in the category of primary colors.  Red, yellow, and blue are categorized as primary colors because they are not able to be made by mixing any other colors together.  I n the videos the biggest impact on me what that we associate different colors with feelings, or places, and memories. These colors could take us back to a certain time in our lives, and we connect these colors with those things.  Sideshow-  http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/zavsteph/slideshow/Art%20project-Elements%20of%20art  ...

Module two's blog post

The main thing I learned from watching the videos, and articles were that aesthetics is a philosophical study of beauty and art. Many may have a different interpretation of what these aesthetics are, but they tie in together when beauty and art are being described. Art is something that teaches us what beauty is. When we see a sculpture, or painting we describe it as beautiful and this is something that teaches us how to appreciate the art work. Out of all the philosophers theories on aesthetics the theory that I feel was most important was Platos (4th century B.C). He said "There is a beauty by which all things are beautiful." This is important because like I mentioned before art is described in all aspects of beautiful. A piece of hard can look grusome and gory, but it can still be viewed as beautiful because of the story that is told behind it. I loved the way that Changeux, and Ramachandran described their definitions of aesthetics, and art. Changeux described aesthe...
